Our new concept in shipboard entertainment aboard Holland America Line is the new “Showroom At Sea”. The centerpiece of this new entertainment lineup is a musical repertory company, showcasing singers from two distinct vocal styles, one operetta/legitimate musical theatre and the other Broadway/contemporary pop, as well as dancers and a musical comedy actor. Various combinations of performers appear each night… from two classical singers backed by a 14-piece orchestra, to a four man pop/rock doo-wop group on a street corner, to a singing host and his guests in a fictitious Vegas nightclub, to an ensemble for the ultimate Broadway tribute.  Please check out the "Showroom At Sea" page audition for requirements.

Welcome to our May Office Chatter! While we may not be dancing round a Maypole, we are certainly welcoming May and the beautiful spring weather.

If you're receiving this note for the first time, you've either recently auditioned for us, or signed up on our website to receive audition alerts. WELCOME…we’re glad you’re here! We like to stay in touch with you so you know what is going on in our casting office and studios. You may know about performing…and you may know about cruise ships…but at STILETTO we've brought the two together into the best combination. Performing award-winning shows, seeing the world from the deck of a 5-star luxury cruise ship…and getting paid to do what you love. You'll see in the next few paragraphs that we've got lots going on, from terrific male and female dancer opportunities, to positions for Broadway/contemporary pop singers and even operetta/legit style singers, so welcome aboard!

In Rehearsal News…
We currently have two casts rehearsing in house right now! Our Prinsendam cast just arrived and has already learned the first of their five shows, while our Westerdam cast is preparing to leave for their changeover. But don’t think for a second that it’s quiet around here, the Ryndam Showroom at Sea entertainers arrive next week and the Zaandam cast arrives later this month.

In Audition News…
Our 2011 Audition Tour is keeping us busy. In April we held auditions in Chicago, Las Vegas and Toronto. This month we have auditions here in LA for our Showroom at Sea project, then we travel to London. We would love to see all of our STILETTO friends whilst we’re out on the road. So, please feel free to stop by and say “hi” if you are near by! Our 2011 audition details are posted on our website at www.stilettoentertainment.com. As always, we encourage our veterans to send more talented folks our way.

In Show News…
As you may have noticed, our Showroom At Sea project is now implemented on six ships. This exciting concept built on singers with Broadway, Broadway national tour credits or legit opera credits along with tall leggy showgirls and a musical comedy actor is getting a wonderful response on the Veendam, Rotterdam, Statendam and Ryndam. The Maasdam and Volendam ships have now both been converted to Showroom at Sea and the performers and production teams are on board opening some great new shows, we wish them all the best for terrific contracts on each of their ships; the new Eurodam cast has started their European adventures and should be enjoying some terrific weather; the Veendam is just out of a crazy dry dock and completing their unorthodox changeover to Bermuda; Our Prinsendam cast, featuring the Statendam Showroom At Sea entertainers is completing their Grand Voyage this month in conjunction with the Amsterdam cast who have just completed their World Cruise… congratulations to both of you for another terrifically entertaining season; the Westerdam as we said will be starting their changeover in Alaska, but the disembarking cast completed their smooth Trans-canal repositioning cruise for the summer, thanks and have a safe trip home; our Rotterdam Showroom At Sea entertainers will be getting some fresh performers mid month as they head off across the Atlantic for the summer; the Zaandam cast is heating up Seward, Alaska until their replacements join in June; and the Ryndam entertainers have set up shop in the Fjords of the Baltic; meanwhile the Statendam and Zuiderdam performers are leap-frogging their way through ports as they both reposition to Alaska; the Noordam cast survived three back to back State Farm charters and are heading off to Europe for the summer; and Oosterdam cast has changed their Sombreros for Tuques in Alaska; the Nieuw Amsterdam cast is enjoying Barcelona and the Mediterranean for the summer. Once again we say thank you for doing a great job of providing the best entertainment on the high seas representing STILETTO entertainment on Holland America Cruises.

In Other News…
As you may know, we love to brag on our 'family' members who have exciting things going on in their lives. This month, we’d like to share more baby news. CONGRATS to Virginia Cunningham (and husband, Steven) on their pregnancy! We hear she’s due near the end of October. Congratulations!

This month’s photo winner is of the singers of the Amsterdam cast. They were asked to sing back-up for the legendary Wayne Newton. Congratulations Brad Baker, Alexa Wildish, Joey Kuba and Jessica Campbell. We are all very proud of you. Since we live vicariously through all of you out on the high seas, don’t forget to send us pictures of your cruise ship adventures. We love to attach them to our Chatter sessions and share them with the entire STILETTO 'family'.
